We have invited musician/actor/writer Brian Kelly back to Little Cinema, this time to rescore Jim Jarmusch's "psychedelic western", Dead Man. In addition to the live score, you can expect sporatic moments of spoken word and theatrical performances integrated into the screening.
About the film: Shot entirely in black and white and dubbed as the ultimate 'post-modern' Western, Dead Man follows William Blake (Johnny Depp), as he is cast out of the dystopic town of Machine in an unfortunate series of events. He is found - half alive - by a native american named Nobody who confirms he is walking dead after unsucessfully trying to remove a bullet lodged too close to his heart. Nobody takes it upon himseld to bring Blake on a journey to the Pacific Ocean to return him to the spirit world. What ensues is one long extended death scene, and multiple meetings with Blake's own mortality.
