A funeral themed stunt for The Mayhem Requiem Premiere

To celebrate the arrival of Lady Gaga’s live concert film Mayhem Requiem on Apple Music, we turned The Grove into a macabre runway.

Lady Gaga made a dramatic entrance at the LA premiere of her concert film with a theatrical funeral procession — marking the end of her ‘Mayhem’ album era with a roving performance art stunt. Dressed in archival Givenchy couture, Gaga was surrounded by dancers lurching and swaying in full regalia, styled in high-witch costumes and dark glamour. The morbid mass kicked off inside the Apple Store and paraded through the streets of The Grove until landing at the AMC Theaters. An eight piece brass band surrounded the procession, playing somber New Orleans–style jazz renditions of songs from Mayhem to foreshadl how the album would be reworked and reimagined into a gothic opera for the film.

The red carpet became an altar drenched in red rose petals to mark the death of her seventh studio album. The project hit Apple Music and 15 AMC screens nationwide that same night.
