Immersive 360° Film Experience

Little Cinema was proud to be invited by Tribeca Festival to create a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience for their 2024 De Niro Con celebration – DE NIRO, NEW YORK – an immersive 360° original short film starring Robert De Niro and exhibited on the ISM Hexadome. DE NIRO, NEW YORK was constructed from hundreds of scenes out of his films and re-edited together to form a new narrative showing De Niro’s many on-screen personalities interacting with each other across the decades. The experience was designed for the mesmerizing ISM Hexadome, a 360° spherical installation made up of 6 screens and 52 speakers that was created by Berlin Institute for Sound and Music.

In building this experience on the ISM Hexadome, we placed viewers at the center of a cinematic portrait, surrounded on all sides by recomposed moments woven together in a chronology that illustrated De Niro’s growth as a man, an artist, and a public figure. Our team also created an original score to accompany the film experience, and used spatial sound cues to guide the audience where to look as the film piece unfolded around them.
